CHARTS! CHARTS! CHARTS! It’s my favorite post of the year—where I take a look at what I sold and make pretty charts in Google Sheets. You can see past YEARS IN CHARTS for 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 here! Just like I said last year, one day I’m going to do a big data cross analysis but well, it’s a busy time and ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Let’s see what we got for 2022! Starting with deals and money:
I mean, look at that! You might think wow Kate wtf happened this year? But you’ll soon see, this is not really a big deal. My income did not take a nosedive with this precipitous drop in total deals. I probably sent out fewer books this year (I haven’t counted tbh) but also I did fewer IP deals this year. That was not by design—it just happens sometimes. I think a lot of my clients were busy doing their 2021 deals! As you’ll see below, too, I think the genres I sold had something to do with this. This year I worked smarter, not harder.
