Hi friends,
Yesterday I spent four hours in meetings with clients! That was my day! (Honestly, it was a great time.) So we’re answering questions today, Friday.
K asks: I recently experienced the dream scenario of having an agent from a top agency contact me after reading and loving my various online and magazine pieces. This agent wanted to discuss potential projects, saw that I'm querying my debut novel, and asked to read it before we spoke. I sent it and the agent confirmed receipt. It's now been almost three months. I know it can take many agents up to a year to read a full, but do the same rules apply for someone who (quite effusively) sought me out? Wondering how long I should wait to follow up (I'm also having oh-so-fun fearful thoughts that the agent dislikes my full and it blew the first impression my other writing made). Also, as a potential client, should I see this delay/silence as a sign of this agent's turnaround time and communication style?
