How’s it going? Let’s answer some questions!!

L asks: Having finished a rough draft, and waiting on comments from Beta readers, I am beginning to put together a list of agents to query, and I am totally overwhelmed. (I gave up last time and left the book on the shelf).  I simply don't know what to look for. I know the first issue is are they currently taking submissions, and the second issue is are they interested in your genre/topic, but after that I am flummoxed how to sort. What else should one look for to figure out who would be a good fit?

Ohhhh, we haven’t talked about this subject in a while, have we? I think it’s time for a refresh! First off, your feelings are very, very normal. This is how everyone feels and it makes perfect sense to feel this way. You want an agent so badly! The stakes feel so high! The information you need is all over the place!!!
