I agree with this so much - I write more in a two hour chunk of time with a one-year-old at home compared to the whole days I had before she came about. The bits I find hard are when those pockets are taken away, like when she’s ill. Three or four days with no time to write starts to claw up my back. It’s partly why I started my Substack…

It’s partly why I started my Substack, because any sort of writing, even if it couldn’t be my book, made me feel more me at the end of the day.
