Hey friends!
It’s the 6th anniversary of Agents & Books and all week we’re sharing guides to help you on your publishing journey. Today’s covers the hows, whats, and whys of getting and having an agent! I sincerely wish this post was on single link to the Official and Comprehensive Database of Everything You Need to Get an Agent, but alas, that does not exist. Instead, we have all this stuff!
Longtime readers, where do you look for info on agents? Anything I missed? You can search the archive here! Keep an eye on your inbox for more guides. Tell your friends!
OXOXOXOXOX,
Kate
HNY Kate! Love how you write about all this muck --- just wanted to add that the best advice I was ever given for how to find an agent that might work for me was to look in the acknowledgements section of books that had similar themes -- a happy writer always thanks their agent! This is how I ended up signing with mine - we'd been talking but she's old school and I couldn't find any evidence of recent work online (thanks for nothing Publishers Marketplace), then I started looking on my shelves and she was all over the place. Just a hint-hint for other readers!
Omg thank you for rounding this up! Sharing widely now. You’re a dream
