Thanks for this. If anyone can relate, I would love ideas or encouraging words on how to balance writing projects in the little spare time outside of the demanding 50 hour, highly analytical work week. This continuously blocks me from finishing writing goals….
Nikki, I hear you! I think all the time about a nineteenth-century single mother (widowed young) who wrote short bits of satire for newspapers by candle and lamplight after she put her girls to bed. Her essays are just a paragraph or two long. I think: I can write at least a paragraph or two, like Fanny Fern (her pseudonym). Kate’s advice to set realistic goals is key. That can be just a paragraph or two.
Write like no one's waiting for it I can empathise with thios statement, as truthfully no one is waiting for "it". I now write for my myself and the need to capture certain occurances which if I don't take the time to record them, no one will. If I fail to record it, in words, the world won't stop turning but life with be a tiny bit less rich for the absence of my post.
