When it comes to illustrations in books, do you know the preferred file type and resolution for digital illustrations submitted for publication? (I'm asking for both the actual book publishing process—what a publisher would request from an illustrator—but I'm assuming it would hold true for the proposal itself, too.) Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer.
I don’t actually! I think it depends on the project and the type of illustrations and type of printing. For a proposal, they only need to be clear enough for general printing/screen viewing and small enough so that the whole proposal can be emailed pretty easily.

I think 8.5x11 is best bc that’s how editors will read it (on a screen).
