Friends!
Did you know you can do polls on Substack? Let’s play with them, huh?
I don’t know if I can see how anyone votes, but even if I can, I promise not to look. You do not have to kiss my ass in these polls, so please answer however you’d like! Sound off in the comments if you want to say something different. Let’s see how this goes!
While you’re here, may I suggest Joy Callaway’s latest book ALL THE PRETTY PLACES, out yesterday from HarperMuse!
This historical novel of the Gilded Age is about a plant nursery that has fallen on hard times, and one woman’s dedication to keeping her family’s business alive, even though her father doesn’t think it’s a suitable job for her. And even if it costs her the love of her life. This is a perfect Mother’s Day read, especially if your mom likes flowers, gardening, historical novels, and romance. Joy is a TOP NOTCH writer and I read this book more than once, and not even because that’s my job. Order it now and it’ll get there by Sunday!
Thanks for playing along, friends.
OXOXOX,
Kate
I know there's a typo up there and I'm not changing it lol.
That was fun!
I'm in a weird category where I have a great agent but not a book deal (which feels like đŸ˜«đŸ˜«). This strange limbo state often isn't explored in discussions of the publication journey beyond "oh boy, yeah, that sucks!". But there are lots of difficult dilemmas in this stage too and I would love to read about this!
