What's on the Docket for 2025?
Oh no, I have feelings about writing. An Agents & Books 2025 Guide
Hi friends!
This week marks the SIXTH ANNIVERSARY of Agents & Books. Can you believe it? Hundreds of posts, questions, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯s, and typos later, I’m still excited to write to you. And my book comes out this year!!! There will be so much more about that TK, but in the meantime, I want to thank you all for being here and to welcome all the newcomers just dipping their toe into this whole writing and publishing thing. Whether it’s your first manuscript or your 50th, we’ve probably talked a bunch about that thing you came here to learn. So, let me point you to the stuff I know you want to know, organized by what your 2025 goal might be. All week1 you’ll get guides you can use to reach your goals in 2025, or at least feel better about it.
Let’s start with the big, messy, cumbersome feelings about writing. We all have them! Here’s some ways to deal with them.
Longtime readers, put some of your faves in the comments! Anything I missed? You can search the archive here! Keep an eye on your inbox for more guides. Coming up, we’ve got query letters! The business of publishing! Editing that Manuscript! And more! Tell your friends!
XOXOOX,
Kate
This is probably the only time I will send out more than two newsletters a week, except maybe the week of June 10th when the book comes out. I don’t think anyone actually wants more email! But I couldn’t fit all the links I wanted to share in one post. Back to our regularly scheduled Tues/Thurs posts next week.
"How Not to be Unhinged" the title alone is worth it : )
I keep these 3 Query Letter posts constantly open in my Query Resources tab group. I've found them extremely helpful to revisit while I revise a query letter. Here's hoping this year they help me land an agent for my debut novel!

Those aside... I literally have your archive open as well because everything I get from your Substack is well worth the paid membership. Forever grateful for everything you provide us, Kate!
